KAMPALA- Makindye East Member of Parliament Micheal Mabikke has lashed at NUP saying the procedure used by party president Robert kyagulanyi of fast-rising NUP to evaluate candidates to contest on his party ticket in the 2021 elections is unfair.
Mabikke a longtime politician but a newcomer to NUP noted that the party vetting process is shabby with tribalism and cliques and not open.
“Samuel Lubega mukaku has been in the struggle from the beginning,Nabilah comes for one day from FDC were she was rejected then u give her the flag yet u didn’t give it to chameleone who has been with u at work”that’s unfairness”” he noted.
Mabikke said he got 45 marks out of 50 during vetting but still he was not given the flag and they chose his opponent who is even NRM and can’t be more popular than him.
He added that NUP has been infiltrated by NRM,he added that there people who wear red bellets during day but go into NRM meetings during the night.
Mabikke said that many people who have been in the struggle are now down and angry because they didn’t get the party flags for 2021.
