UNRA speaks more about Rukungiri – Kanungu Road construction

KANUNGU- The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) Client Care Officer on the ongoing construction of Rukungiri – Kanungu Road Asiimire Igorrah has asked the members of the general public to keep off from the Quarry site because the ash that comes from there is very dangerous and causes diseases.

Ms Asiiimire said this today evening while appearing on Radio Kinkizi where said that the authorities are concerned over the many people who throng to the quarry site to look at how machines operate.

She also asked the people who are still using the road reserves as animal grazing places to stop the practice because these are part of the road construction sites.

Ms Asiimwe passionately asked the CHICO Road construction workers to stop the practice of getting involved in affairs with under age girls and said they risk having their contracts with CHICO stopped and eventually the the road construction will also be stopped because of such practices.

She warned that any CHICO worker found using an under age girl will be arrested and produced in court without fear or favor.

However the Child Protection Officer Twebaze Kate asked parents to take more care of their children especially the girls and keep them at home so that they are not exposed to the CHICO road contract workers.

She also asked all road users especially the Boda Boda cyclists to be extra careful while on the road because as the road gets clear they are prone to make accidents.
