SHEEMA- The National Resistence Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission Chairman Dr Tanga Odoi has allowed Sheema District NRM Registrar to step aside during the party primaries.
According to a letter dated July 3rd 2020, Dr Tanga Odoi asked John Kateshumbwa who has been the Sheema District NRM Registrar to step aside and avoid conflict of interest in the party primary elections.
John Kateshumbwa is a brother to Dickson Kateshumbwa a former Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) who recently declared his intentions to contest for Sheema Municipality Parliamentary Seat.
It’s however, reported that John Kateshumbwa personally requested wrote to the NRM Electoral Commission on June 26th asking for permission to let him step aside.
“This is to inform you that your request has been granted, you will step aside from office with immediate effect until 30th Sept 2020” Dr Tanga Odoi wrote.
The letter which this Online Publication has seen indicates that Frank Ahimbisibwe who has been the Assistant Registrar will take over from Kateshumbwa during this period.
Odoi copied the letter to Sheema District NRM Chairman, Sheema District Police Commander, and Sheema Resident District Commissioner among many others.
