KAMPALA- The Electoral Commission (EC) has issued the nomination requirements for political aspirants seeking various elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.
According to the list of requirements, those aspiring for Parliamentary seats will have to incur a payment of UGX 3M, 10 signatures for supporters, minimum qualification of Senior 6 or its requirement and photocopies of academic qualifications.
In addition the Parliamentary seat aspirants will be required to submit 3 colored passport photo size photographs and 3 copies of each submitted document.
Those aspiring for district leadership must be aged 30 years and above but less than 75 years of age and should possess senior 6 or its academic equivalent as well as a payment of Ugx 200,000 as nomination fee.
They will also be required to produce 50 signatures from supporters, 3 copies of each submitted document and 3 colored passport size photographs.
This is in line with the newly issued revised electoral road map for the 2021 general elections that the country is soon heading for.
