Uganda’s Coronavirus death toll hits 55 as 96 new cases are confirmed

KAMPALA- The Ministry of health has confirmed 96 new Covid-19 cases hiking the Cumulative number of Ugandans already infected to 4,799.

The new cases are part of the 3,350 samples tested on Saturday September 12th 2020.

Of these cases, 88 are alerts and contacts of which 33 are from Kampala, 28 from Buikwe, Jinja 4, lira 3, Kibuku 2, Mbarara 2, Terego 2 and Tororo registered 2 cases. Amolatar, Arua, Iganga, Masindi, Ngora, Moroto, Pader and Wakiso each recorded a single case.

The other cases are 7 truck drivers of whom 3 arrived from Malaba, 2 Bunagana and 2 via Elegu border points of entry.

The Country also registered 3 COVID-19 deaths from Kampala bringing Uganda’s total COVID-19 fatality to 55.Uganda’s total COVID-19 recoveries also increased to 2,256.
