Uganda’s Coronavirus death toll hits 30 as cases hike to 2,928

KAMPALA- The Ministry of Health has confirmed 81 new coronavirus cases from the 3,890 tests done on Saturday August 29th 2020 hiking Uganda’s cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 2,928.

Of the new cases, Contacts and alerts are 67 including 32 from Kampala, Kiryandongo 9, Kitgum 7, Wakiso 4, Mukono 4, Iganga 3, Jinja 2, Gulu 2, Mbale 1, Oyam 1, Bundibugyo 1, Namisindwa 1

The country also recorded 12 new coronavirus cases from Health workers including 4 from Lira, 3 from Kampala, 3 from Moroto, as Jinja and Tororo each registering a single case.

Other 2 cases were Truck drivers who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry.  The country also recorded one Coronavirus death bringing to 30 the total number of Coronavirus fatalities in Uganda. The deceased is a Ugandan male aged 65 years old and a resident of Mbale.

Additionally, 11 foreign truck drivers tested positive for Coronavirus at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted

Uganda has todate Sunday 30th August 2020 recorded 2,928 coronavirus cases, 1,288 recoveries and 30 deaths.
