KAMPALA- Uganda’s Health Ministry has confirmed seven 7 new Coronavirus cases from the 1,885 samples tested on Monday 27th July , 2020.
According to the Ministry of Health’s breakdown, of the 7 new cases, 5 are truck drivers, 1 is an alert case from Buikwe District, while the other one is a Ugandan national who returned from Saudi Arabia and was under quarantine at the time of testing.
The 5 truck drivers who were among the 1,220 samples tested at points of entry include; 4 who arrived from Kenya via Malaba while one arrived from Tanzania via Mutukula point of entry.
According to the ministry, a total of 32 foreign truck drivers including 26 Kenyans, 3 Tanzanians, 2 Congolese and 1 South Sudanese who tested positive for Coronavirus were not permitted entry into the country.
Uganda has todate registered 1,135 confirmed Coronavirus cases, 989 recoveries and 2 Coronavirus deaths.
