Uganda’s Coronavirus cases hit 1,029 as 4 new cases are confirmed

KAMPALA- The ministry of health has confirmed 4 new coronavirus cases from 1,702 samples tested on Sunday July 12th 2020 pushing the Country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 1,029.

Of the 4 confirmed cases two are truck drivers and other two are alerts from Amuru and Isingiro districts.

Regarding truck drivers one arrived from Kerwa point of entry in Yumbe district and another one from Democratic Republic of Congo via Mpondwe point of entry in Kasese district.

Additionally, 18 foreign truck drivers (14 Kenyans,2 Tanzanians,1 Rwandan and 1Congolese)tested positive and were not allowed to enter Uganda.

Todate Uganda has registered 977 recoveries of coronavirus including both Ugandans and non-Ugandans. Uganda has not yet registered any coronavirus fatalities.

A total number of 1702 tests were carried out today bringing the cumulative total of samples tested to 22,8105.
