KAMPALA-The Ministry of Health has today recorded the lowest number of confirmed Coronavirus cases after only 3 people tested positive from yesterday’s tests.
According to the statement issued by the Director General of Medical Services in the Ministry of Health, Dr Henry Mwebesa, the 3 cases belong to 2 long distance truck drivers and one Community infection.
Dr Mwebesa said that the total number of accumulative confirmed cases in Uganda has now reached at 1,04He however said that Uganda has registered 1,004 recoveries and all these include Ugandans and foreigners.
Dr Mwebesa however indicated that 198 people remain admitted in various hospitals across the country and 172 of these are Ugandans, 22 are foreigners and 4 are refugees.
He said that the Ugandan authorities yesterday denied 19 foreign long distance truck drivers from entering Uganda after they tested positive for Coronavirus at various border entry points. Uganda remains the only East African country which has not registered Coronavirus death since it broke out in March this year.
