KAMPALA– The Ministry of Health has today confirmed 109 new coronavirus cases hiking the Country’s tally of Uganda’s positive cases to 3,776.
The Ministry also recorded 3 new coronavirus deaths accounting for 44 deaths currently in Uganda.
According to the Ministerial statement, 96 cases are contacts and alerts 54 of which are from Kampala,11 from Luwero, 7 from Kitugm, 5 from Wakiso, 4 Buvuma, 3 from Buikwe. Mbale, Gulu and Mbarara each registered 2 cases while arua, mukono, tororo, and Oyam each registered 1.
7 Health workers including 5 from Lira, 1 from Mbarara and Kampala also tested positive for Coronavirus.
In the same sense, 4 truck drivers including 2 who arrived from Elegu, one from Malaba and Goli border points of entry respectively tested positive for Coronavirus.
The new cases also included 2 returnees from South Sudan and Tanzania.
Additionally, 4 Kenyan truck drivers tested Positive for the scourge at different border points of entry and their entry into the country was denied.The three confirmed deaths include 1 from Lira and Mbarara Regional Referral Hospitals while the third is a 53 year old male resident of Kampala.
