KAMPALA- The Electoral commission chairperson justice Simon Mugyenyi Byabakama has asked the presidential hopeful Rtd Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde to seek the indulgence of the commissioner of oaths in regard to his documents submission for nomination.
Gen. Tumukunde had today gone to the nomination grounds at Kyambogo university cricket grounds to be dully nominated by the independent Electoral commission to contest in the 2021 general elections as a presidential candidate.
The documents Tukmukunde submitted according to news obtained by the press had not been verified by the commissioner of Oaths.
Tumukunde however told the press that the issue as required by the Electoral Commission is simple and that he can accomplish it and return for nomination.
“This is a small anomaly and I am working on it expeditiously I can come back and complete my nomination process” Presidential Hopeful Tumukunde told the press.
Gen Tumukunde has been accompanied to the nomination ground by 10 people including Stella Tumukunde his wife, Hon Beatrice Kiraso and Steven Byakutaga as stipulated by the Electoral commission.
