BUSOGA- Two Police Officers and a suspect have perished in an accident on Thursday morning at Magamaga Trading Center along Iganga – Jinja Highway.
The accident involved motor vehicle registration number UBF 837K a Toyota Premio – silver in colour that was being driven by an unknown person, the car had a head-on collision with a trailer Registration Number KCQ 638C /ZC 738 Foton and later a side brush with a Police vehicle number UP 7483.
According to James Mubi, the East Busoga Police spokesman, three people died on the spot.
Mr. Mubi identified the deceased as D/AIP Mawa Emmanuel attached to General Crime at CID headquarters, D / Sgt Magara Dick from General Crime CID headquarters and Wadambwa Phillip – a suspect who was being escorted.
Mubi added that the tragic incident happened at around 05:00 hours today morning the 2nd of July 2020.
“The bodies have been conveyed to the mortuary for postmortem,” East Busoga Police PRO confirmed.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the root cause of the accident.
