MITOOMA- Ruhinda county Parliamentary seat is getting hotter as another candidate has joined in the political contest.
The seat is currently occupied by one Captain Dononzio Kahonda who however shifted to the new Ruhinda South Constituency.
Now, after the NRM primary Parliamentary elections which were won by Maj General Kahinda Otafiire in the New Ruhinda county, many aspirants have come out to challenge him.
One of them is known as Alex Yekwatse Mukirane who has come as an independent candidate. Mukirane is a resident of Rushoroza, in Ijumo parish Mitooma Subcounty in Mitooma district.
Talking to our reporter today in an exclusive interview, Mukirane said he has come to rescue Ruhinda and is not after any business other than serving the voters.
Others in the race are; Maj General Kahinda Otafiire (NRM), Mbaine Robert (Independent), Dr Ben Twetegeire (Independent), Eng Audrey Akampa (FDC) among others.
Some voters are worried that Kahinda Otafiire who had lost to Captain Dononzio Kahonda in 2015 might lose the seat again if he miscalculates the game.
