NAMISINDWA- A 27-year-old man with Coronavirus-like symptoms has collapsed and died in Namisindwa this morning.
According to the information obtained by this online publication, the Coronavirus Rapid Response Team is on ground, and samples have been removed from the dead body.
This comes just a week after Yunis Chimatala, succumbed to Coronavirus at Joy Hospice Center in Mbale City after midnight at 2 am on Wednesday 23rdJuly, 2020.
She was first admitted at Wasungui Health Center II on July 15th, 2020 in Namisindwa district before being transferred to Joy Hospice health facility from where she died.
Postmortem results from Uganda Virus Research Institute, Makerere University, Tororo and Central Public Health Laboratories-CPHL confirmed that she died of Coronavirus.
Chimatala was reportedly buried hurriedly on Thursday under tight security, a day immediately after her demise.
Also in Kampala, another Ugandan was on Sunday confirmed to have died from Coronavirus. She was an 80-year-old female, a resident of Mengo, Kisenyi III in Kampala.
She was admitted to Platinum Hospital on Friday 24th July, 2020 at 5:00 pm after she presented with COVID-19 symptoms of cough, fever, chest pain and difficulty in breathing.
She was referred to Mengo Hospital where she breathed her last at 6:30 pm on the same day.Following her death, postmortem samples analyzed at the Uganda Virus Research Institute and Makerere University Hospital confirmed that the deceased had succumbed to COVID-19.
