Social Media Group Donates Ugx 3.6 million Solar Plant to Kebisoni Health Centre IV

RUKUNGIRI-Rukungiri District Chief Adminstrative Officer (CAO), Elias  Byamungu, has hailed Kebisoni Tumanyane Group which donated a solar plant worth Ugx 3.6 Million to Kebisoni Health Centre IV in Kebisoni Town Council in Rukungiri District to boost and improve health services at the facility.

Kebisoni Tumanyane Group with 269 members who hail from Greater Kebisoni and are spread allover the country and in diaspora operate a Social Media platform and was started in 2019 with a main objective to transform their community with focus on both social and economical initiatives.

Speaking to this reporter after the launch of the Solar plant which was blessed by the Rukungiri District Local Governmemt, Byamungu said that such community initiatives are welcome to supplement governmemt work.

The function which took place at Kebisoni Health Centre was presided over by  Leonard Muhunguzi Tiberondwa the area District Councilor who  commended Kebisoni Tumanyane Group members for looking beyond to provide services back to their roots and asked them to remain united and avoid  being swept divisive politics.

The Acting Chairman of Kebisoni Tumanyane Group Amon Gumisiriza Kabusaasi, noted that the decision to  donate a solar plant was agreed upon by members after a needs assessment study was carried out and established that Kebisoni Health Center lacked electricity incase of power blackout and  this affected the service delivery to patients especially the expectant mothers who need it most.

Kebisoni Health Centre IV Officer InCharge Dr Julius Tayebwa noted that the installation of Solar plant at the facility will go a long way in improving services at the Center and will also help cut electricity bills.
