RUKUNGIRI- The Police in Rukungiri District have arrested six people in connection with the murder of a 40 year old woman.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate said the Police arrested the 6 to help in investigations of the circumstances under which Komugisha Generous a resident of Rwega village in Bwanda Parish in Buhunga Sub County was killed.
Maate told this Online Publication that the Police swung into action yesterday Nov 1st 2020 after, unnamed informer confided to the Police at Buhunga Sub County that a person had been killed in Rwega village and her relatives were arranging to bury her without reporting.
Maate said that this raised suspicion and the Police led by Buhunga Police Station Stephen Twinomugisha rushed to the scene and when the body was examined, it was discovered that it had bruises all over the body which suggested that she had been strangled to death.
The Police retrieved the body and took it to Rwakabengo Health Center III Mortuary to help in further investigation and the case was registered at Rukungiri Police Station under reference number CRB 2011/2020 to help in further investigations.
Those arrested include Bamporwari David, Tushabe Annette, Twijukye Jane, Turyahabwe Peace, Muhumua Alex and Kaharuza Ponsiano.
