Security agencies urged to be impartial ahead of 2021 elections

NTUNGAMO- The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramathan Mubajje has appealed to government and security agencies to be impartial while manning the 2020/2021 electoral processes to pave way for free and fair elections.

Sheikh Mubajje who is also the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) Chairperson tasked the government and Electoral Commission to avail equal opportunities to all candidates regardless of their political affiliations.

He noted that since the candidates will hold virtual campaigns there is a need for all political parties to be given equal chances to use radios, Televisions and other platforms instead of blocking some that may cause panic and mayhem amongst the populace.

Mubajje made the remarks during the scientific ground breaking for the construction of Ntungamo District Kadhi residential house at Ntungamo Municipality main mosque which coincided with the commissioning of classroom blocks at Maato Muslim Primary school and Kemishego ss all in Ntungamo District.

He also asked the government to invest in a spiritual growth economy as the only way to save Ugandans from wicked acts which has forced the government to prioritise buying more security machines like teargas and building of many prisons across the country.

“Pray for peace, unity and spiritual revival saying that it will reduce criminal and conflicts ahead of 2021 general elections” Mubajje calls on Muslims.

The Ntungamo Municipality MP Hon Gerald Karuhanga hailed the Muslims for cooperation which has enabled Maato Muslim PS to benefit from Ntungamo Municipality.

Hon Karuhanga acknowledged that there are some countries in the world operating without many armies noting that if the country believes in spiritual economy then it would not be a case to invest much in buying tear gas, torture and prisons.
