KISORO- The Police in Kisoro District are hunting for a man who is alleged to have picked a hammer and hit it his fellow workers killing him instantly before fleeing the place.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed that Kazungu Edison picked a quarrel with Manzi Ivan both workers at Club D Zone owned by Emmanuel Rukundo in Karumena Village, Kamonyi Ward in Northern Ward of Kisoro Municipality; hit him with a hammer on the head leaving him unconscious.
Their employer Emmanuel Rukundo rushed injured Manzi Ivan to Kisoro Hospital where he died today July 30th 2020 morning.
It’s reported that although the late Manzi was a resident of Chuho Road in Chuhe Village in Central Division of Kisoro Municipality, he hailed from Rwanda and was working in Kisoro.
Maate said that the employer Emmanuel Rukundo reported the matter to the Police and the case of murder was registered under reference number CRB 468/2020 to help in investigation.
Maate said that by the time the Police visited the scene where Manzi was hit from, the suspect Kazungu had already fled from the area, but the Police have to hunt for him and arrest him so that he can be charged accordingly.
By the time of writing this story, it was not clear if Manzi relatives in Rwanda had been informed to collect his body for descent burial.
