RWAMPARA- The people who participated in the NRM primaries who won or lost in the party elections in Rwampara District have unanimously agreed to work together regardless of their political challenges to consolidate the unity, cohesion and reconciliation within the Party.
However the majority of those who lost in the NRM primaries openly disclosed that they will participate in the general elections for knowing where their victory was hidden by security agencies.
This was confirmed at constructive and reconciliation meeting held at Rwampara District Headquarters, in Kinoni Town Council that was chaired by the Prime Minister of Uganda Dr Ruhakana Rugunda flanked by the NRM chairperson Rampara District Godfrey Mutima Kapa.
The member of Parliament Rwampara Charles Ngabirano and former Rwampara MP Mujuni Vincent Kyamadidi were among other people in attendance that presented some of stressing issues related with NRM primaries which were alleged to have not been free and fair.
Rt Hon Dr Rugaunda appreciated the presentation and complaints raised by the members in the meeting for both the independents and NRM flag bearers for accepting to continue working for NRM, campaign for NRM as a team and also campaign for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the coming presidential elections.
He urged the NRM flag bearers to woe those who competed with them in the primary elections so that they can reconcile as still members of the movement who should work together for the benefit and victory of the NRM party and all its candidates.
However all disgruntled former candidates who lost in the NRM primaries one after the other both in parliamentary and local leadership asked the office of the Prime Minister to help and remove the acting Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Rwampara Emmy Turyabagyenyi Kateera.
They allege that the acting RDC and the District Police Commander have engaged themselves so much in local politics of Rwampara District causing challenges of instability, confusion and hatred that might change the ideology people have in the NRM party.
However in his defense, Turyabagyenyi Kateera who attended the meeting said all those who raised malicious allegations against him were only those who lost in the elections after their chances and plans of rigging the elections were prevented by security team deployed there.
