MITOOMA- The Ruhinda County legislator Honorable Captain Mugabe Dononzio Kahonda has warned his opponent Atwebembeire Arthur Kazoora against mixing personal and family issues with politics.
Hon. Kahonda was responding to allegations by Arthur Kazoora who says his opponents masterminded the scenario where a coffin was found in his compound in Rwakikambuzi cell, Nyakihita Parish, Mutara Subcounty in Mitooma district.
The coffin was on Monday morning August 31st 2020 found dumped in Kazoora’s compound surrounded by 2,000 shillings notes amounting up to u 74,000.
Addressing journalists at his home yesterday, Kazoora blamed his opponents without mentioning the names for being behind the scenario. In his words he said, they fear that he will defeat them and that’s why they have decided to threaten him.
“They are worried. They know what they promised the electorates and never fulfilled. I have already won them and that’s why they are now threatening me but victory is mine”, Mr. Kazoora told the press.
The aspirant added that they are liars who promised a hoax and now that his community has come to know, they are channeling them by dropping a coffin at his home.
Reacting on the issue on Tuesday morning September 1st 2020, Hon Captain Dononzio Kahonda who is also eyeing the Ruhinda South Parliamentary seat wondered how a real politician can start playing cheap politics to earn sympathy votes from the people.
He said if the aspirant has his background problems; it’s better to have them sorted first and then return to seek votes instead of causing political chaos amongst the voters.
“We should play mature politics rather than tarnishing your opponents’ names and profiles. This is especially due to the lack of clear manifesto to the voters. I am even wondering if one of the radio station in Kashenshero town council ran the story before any person had reported it, where did they get the information,” Hon Kahonda said.
The incumbent legislator also wondered if a song that was composed and released by Mr. Bonde was before even the police left the scene was composed in just minutes?
“To me I think it was an earlier plan by Mr. Kazoora and his people aimed at tarnishing the image of the area’s politicians but he won’t survive because the people of Ruhinda South know where we came from and where we’re heading,” Hon Kahonda added.
The said song praising Arthur Kazoora has since been accessed by our news desk.
Another aspirant Ambrosio Byamugisha Muhoozi was reluctant to comment on the matter but warned the people of Ruhinda against politics of hatred which he said might end up in bloodshed which is uncalled for in Ruhinda South Constituency.
Some of the residents who never wanted their names to be mentioned said they suspected Mr Kazoora of engaging in spiritual and satanic deeds which might be witch hunting him now.
Up to now the police are still investigating the matter and here at www.theinformerug.com we will keep you posted on each detail that emerges.
