RUKUNGIRI- The Rubabo County Parliamentary seat is heating up as the country gears up for 2021 general elections as an entrepreneur Hilary Ainembabzi aka “OWA WORK” joins the race with a new approach to governance and employment creation especially for the youths.
Ainembabazi Hillary, also known as “owa work” : was born on 30th May, 1990 in Kigango village, Ruyonza parish, Nyarushanje sub county, Rubabo County in Rukungiri District.
Ainembabazi became an orphan at the age of 6yrs after the death of his father, which was due to war injuries sustained during the 1980 to 1986 bush war, which his father fully participated in as a “kadogo”.
He is the first born from his mother’s side and the second born from the father in a family of 4 children.
Hilary is a family man on the family front, “OWA WORK” is married to Nshemereirwe Evelyn with two kids: Ainembabazi Rehma and Bugaiga Democracy.
Being an orphan, Ainembabazi couldn’t afford school fees and even the scholastic materials for Universal Primary Education (UPE) his hopes of ever joining school were flimsy.
By the grace of the good lord, he was helped by an NGO known as HOPE ministries, which is under Kisiizi Hospital plus his relatives and well wishers; he studied and attained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing.
“I went to army schools which were educating children of fallen soldiers that are Jinja army boarding primary school and Nakasongola, army secondary school,” he says.
After the studies, he could not find any job anywhere and decided to start his own business, “a printing and Textile company” mainly dealing in school and corporate uniforms, plus importation of printing materials and Textile materials from Dubai, India and China.
Politically, “OWA WORK” is not in this field for the first time, he was the Deputy Head Prefect Nakasongola Army SS where he served diligently and successfully completed his term.
“In 2011 to 2012, I was the Chairperson of the Anglican Church in Nakasongola Army Secondary School”.
At University, Ainembabazi Hilary “OWA WORK” was the president of Kigezi students association which was advocating for unity and equal opportunities among students from the Kigezi region.
With the experience gained from the above leadership positions, “Owa Work” believes more in making sure the desired change is attained by Ugandans in a peaceful way.
He also yarns and implements the need for quality and equal education to all youths in Rubabo County and Uganda at large. He has been sensitising Ugandans to rise up and advocate for their rights and resist oppression.
Ainembabazi, an FDC party subscriber has now offered himself to the constituents in Rubabo equipped with ambition and hope that they can join him in the struggle for the Parliamentary seat so that he can deliver to them what they have desired for a long time.
