KAMPALA- The Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will on Saturday July 11th 2020 address the country on the National Population day.
The day is always commemorated on the 11th of July annually in a bid to remember some population dynamics across the world.
Ahead of this Day celebrations tomorrow, President Museveni on Friday July 10th 2020 had an interaction with the Country Representative for the United Nations Population Fund, Mr Alain Sibenaler, and the officials of the Population Secretariat at State House Entebbe.
The concerns in regard to the quality and quantity of our populations, having been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic; only strengthen the need for governments to facilitate the process of creating a more productive, skilled, middle class as opposed to a consuming one.
“My detailed message, as we mark this day under the theme “Leveraging Uganda’s Population Dynamics for a resilient future amidst Covid-19”, will air on TV tomorrow. I thank you” President Museveni posted on his social media accounts.
The address will be aired on all local TV and Radio stations at 11am.
The day will be commemorated scientifically since the country is still crippling with the outbreak of coronavirus that forced the banning of social gatherings and other usual engagements that were put to halt.
