Police in Kabale discovers dead body of woman in rented house

KABALE- The Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which an unidentified woman was last night discovered dead in a rented room. 

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists that the yet to be identified woman was discovered dead yesterday 16th July 2020 towards midnight from her rented room belonging to Sunday Patrick in Kinyunyutsi village in Upper Bugongi Ward, Northern Division Kabale Municipality.

It’s alleged that, the deceased together with the husband and their three kids rented the house on the 14th July 2020, and three days later, the residents could not see people around, however, the door was partially open, when they fully opened, they only saw her lying on a mat and covered with a blanket and it was at this time that the residents alerted the area chairperson one Paul Bafaki who reported the matter to the to Police.

Maate said that the scene was visited by the Police Detectives today July 17th 2020 morning and body taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem to be carried out.

“In the room were ARV tablets, four boxes of the Rutaf food given to the Hiv/Aids victims and her body was emaciated and the hair had pulled off” Maate explained.

Maate also said that the detectives found a child birth certificate issued at Nyamityobora Health Centre in Mbarara on 13/3/2019. 

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesman said that the birth certificate bore the names of Ainepurani Isaiah whose father is Sabiti Jack a mechanic and mother was indicated as Orishaba Judith who could be the deceased and were residents of Kisenyi, in  Kakoba Division in  Mbarara Municipality.

Maate said that a case has been registered at Kabale Central Police Station under reference number SD 79/16/07/2020 to help in investigations.
