MITOOMA- The National Resistance Movement NRM tribunal has cleared Agasha Juliet Bashisha as the Mitooma District Woman Parliamentary flag bearer despite earlier petitions by her opponents.
The NRM Tribunal which sat yesterday dismissed the petitions lodged by the Incumbent legislator Jovah Kamateeka and Arinaitwe Jacqueline Mugore challenging her victory.
The duo alleged that the poll was marred Irregularities ranging from voter bribery, intimidation among others. However, the tribunal trashed the petition after the petitioners failed to provide enough evidence backing the petition.
In the results announced by the District Registrar Essau Nuwagira, Juliet Agasha came first with 25,228 votes, followed by Jova Kamateeka who polled 23,227 votes and Arinaitwe Jacqueline Mugore third with 22,905 votes.
Our reporter has been able to understand that Jacqueline Mugore has already declared her intentions to stand as an independent candidate for the same seat.
