RUKUNGIRI- The Ruling National Resistance Movement NRM has won majority of the youth sub county seats in Rukungiri district in the recently held elections.
In Nyarushanje Sub County, the ruling NRM won 08 seats against FDC’s 01, in Buyanja sub county, the National Resistance Movement won all the 09 seats and the FDC didn’t get any.
The 9 youths sub county seats in Kebisoni were all won by the NRM which was the same case in Bugangari
In Rukungiri Municipality the FDC won all the seats in Western and Southern Divisions as the NRM floored them in Eastern Division.
In Bikulungu and Rwerere Town Councils, Buhunga, Ruhinda, Nyakishenyi and Bwambara Sub Counties the NRM won all the seats as the FDC won support in Buyanja and Kebisoni Town Councils plus Nyakagyeme Sub County.
Mr. Edward Byamukama the Buyanja Sub County National Resistance Movement chairperson congratulated the NRM youths upon the success against the opposition FDC adding that this proves a better party’s future.
Wednesday’s election was overseen by the Rukungiri District returning Officer Abas Namara in an exercise he termed peaceful.
