KAMPALA- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered that all the revelers who were Sunday night picked from the Najjera-based La Venti night club be quarantined for 14 days at their own cost.
This follows a surprise operation launched yesterday evening by the Police operatives and Army on La Venti Bar and Restaurants where over 200 patrons were arrested.
Senior Presidential Press Secretary Don Innocent Wanyama has confided to journalists that the arrested revelers will face 14-day quarantine for flouting Presidential directives.
Don Wanyama also said that President Museveni has ordered a punishment that the revellers who defied his directives must pay the cost of being quarantined for 14 days.
Wanyama said that there are those who managed to climb the walls or found other escape routes and are currently nursing broken limbs, but the Police will still look for them wherever they are and arrest them.
“There is a case of revellers who climbed the perimeter fence, broke his limbs and are admitted in hospital, the Police already know where he is admitted and are waiting for him to stabilize and have him arrested.
Wanyama also revealed that the business owner at the premises where the revelers were arrested will face the law.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman SP Patrick Onyango said that the revelers were last night arrested by Police after they were found in a frenzy of partying, drinking and dancing body to body even without facemasks. Onyango said this was a complete defiance of the law and therefore must face the law without fear or favor as a deterrent to others.
