KAMPALA- President Museveni Yoweri has on Sunday September 20th 2020 agreed the reopening of places of worship with a limited number.
Giving a status update on the Covid-19 pandemic to the nation the President said that with a limited number of 70 worshippers the churches can reopen but observe the standard operating procedures.
He blamed the increase in the number of cases to errant Ugandans who have not been keen to the Ministry of Health’s and WHO Standard Operating Procedures.
Mr. Museveni said that churches can draw a timetable for worshippers to follow from Monday to Sunday with few worshippers attending in intervals.
He however, warned of Sunday schools, prayer gatherings for children noting that those will be considered when the virus is gone.
He kept a ban on overnights and trans night prayers saying people in nights will fail to observe the SOPs.
