KAMPALA- Ministry of health Public Relations Officer Emmanuel Ainebyoona has tested positive COVID-19.
Ainebyoona who is currently receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital has confirmed this via his tweet that read:
“Good evening all,
I am currently receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital after testing COVID-19 positive.
I am feeling better and the doctors are doing a great job.
Please the remember to follow the @MinofHealthUG COVID-19 preventive measures
I will be well”.
Ainebyoona’s confirmation is among the 122 new coronavirus cases confirm on Thursday October 22nd 2020 that increased the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 11,163.
The 122 are all contacts and alerts 55 of whom are from Kampala, 11 from Wakiso, 10 from Mukono, 7 from Mbarara, 5 from Gulu, 5 from Tororo, Kibuku 3, Luwero 4, Manafwa 3 and 3 from Mbale.
Others were 2 from Kyotera, 2 from Rubanda, Buikwe 1, Bunyangabu 1, Bushenyi 1, Kabale 1, Kayunga 1, Kumi 1, Lamwo 1, Lira 2, Mubende 2 and Ntungamo 1.
The country also registered one new COVID-19 death from Kampala hiking the country’s death toll to 99. The country’s Recoveries have also increased to 7,269.
