KAMPALA- 13 new Coronavirus cases have been recorded by the Ministry of Health from 1,812 samples tested on Monday July 26th 2020 hiking Uganda’s tally to 1,128.
According to the Ministry’s breakdown, one (1) of the new cases is an alert case from Kampala, seven (7) are contacts to the previously confirmed cases of whom 6 are from Namisindwa and 1 from Arua districts.
The other 5 are truck drivers who were among the 1,340 samples tested at points of entry, 3 of whom arrived from Kenya via Malaba while the other 2 arrived from Tanzania and DRC via Mutukula and Goli points of entry.
The Ministry of Health adds that 20 foreign truck drivers including 10 Kenyans, 2 Tanzanians, 4 Congolese, 3 Rwandese and 1 Burundian tested positive for Coronavirus at border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.
Uganda has todate registered a cumulative total of 1,128 confirmed Coronavirus cases, 986 recoveries and 2 Coronavirus deaths.
