MITOOMA- The Police in Mitooma district are hunting for a man on allegation of attacking his relatives and cut off their arms.
The suspect has been identified as Nickson Nuwandinda who attacked the family of Mr Rubyegira Yorokamu, cut off his one arm before he ascended onto Yorokamu’s wife only identified as Norah cutting her 2 arms using a sharp panga accusing them of witchcraft.
The suspect is a son to Rutasimburwa Patrick, a resident of Katunda village, Katunda Parish in Mitooma Sub County in Mitooma district.
One of the residents who preferred anonymity revealed to our reporter that the suspect attacked the family on Saturday evening October 10th 2020 at around 8pm and started by chopping off the woman’s hand before ascending to the husband who had tried to rescue his wife.
The suspect is said to have fled the crime scene after the incident.
Information obtained by this Online Publication indicates that the two families have for long been accusing each other of witch craft.
Mitooma District Police visited the scene, arrested the suspect’s father and his brother only identified as Amon to help them in investigations.
The injured were rushed to Kampala International University Hospital Ishaka and later referred to Mbarara regional Referral hospital for further medical attention.
