KSORO- The Police in Kisoro District are investigating circumstances under which a 55 year old teacher was killed.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate says, Byamugisha Paul 55 years resident of Mulinzi village in Muramba Sub County in Kisoro District was waylaid on Monday July 20th 2020 and assaulted by unknown people who left him unconscious.
Maate said that Byamugisha was waylaid on Monday evening as he returned home from a nearby Kidandali Trading Center.
It’s reported that Byamugisha was a teacher at Kitende Junior School but recently returned to his home after the closure of schools due to Coronavirus pandemic.
Maate said that Byamugisha was left unconscious on the roadside where he was discovered by passerby who rushed him to Kisoro Hospital where he has been admitted but unfortunately, a day later he died from the injuries suffered from the assault.
The LC 1 Chairman of the village Ndiyoriki James reported the matter to the Police after learning that Byamugisha had died.
Maate said that the Police have started investigations and they already have leads that may help in arresting the suspects.
The case of murder has been registered at Kisoro District Police Station under reference number CRB 453/2020 to help in investigations.
