KABALE- The Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances under which one person died after he was allegedly involved in a single fatal road traffic accident.
Information obtained by Police indicates that the deceased who is a Kenyan truck driver of a semi trailer reg. no. KBX 799D/ZE5631 M/Benz Actros was coming from Mbarara heading towards Kabale when the motor vehicle lost control and overturned.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police Spokesman, the deceased has been identified as James Juma Kuria 49 years of Kuyambu district Mombasa Kenya and he was the only occupant of the motor vehicle that overturned.
The accident which is under investigation at Kabale Central Police station vide 32/2020 occurred on Friday October 2nd 2020 at about 5:30PM at Nkumbura corner.
Maate adds that according to investigations so far, the accident could have originated from reckless driving.
“We visited the scene, took the body to Kabale referral hospital mortuary pending postmortem” Maate told the press in a statement.
RELATEDLY, there was a serious accident involving m/v reg no UG0100Q Isuzu D/ cabin driven by one Fredrick Mpanga of Sonde, Namugongo Mukino district which knocked mc reg no UEU450F Bajaj, injuring its rider Amos Twinomujuni 21 of Nyakanengo Kabale district.
According to Maate, the accident also happened on Friday October 2nd 2020 at around 1530hrs at Kyobugombe along Kabale Mbarara highway.
Police visited the scene and the victim was rushed to Bukinda health centre four where is admitted and investigations are ongoing at Kabale Central Police station TAR 31/2020.
