Kanungu District has on October 9th 2020 registered 4 new coronavirus cases hiking the district’s tally to 14 since the outbreak.
The first case was of a driver who was attached to Kayonza tea factory who succumbed to the scourge before his wife also tested positive for Coronavirus.
Another case was of a businessman operating in Kihihi Town Council and the district has todate registered an upward shift in the curve.
Meantime, the results indicate that 96 Ugandans tested positive from the samples tested Thursday October 8th 2020.
According to the Ministerial breakdown, 95 of the new cases are Contacts and alerts 33 of whom are from Kampala, 18 from Soroti, 6 from Adjumani, Mityana 5, Butaleja 4, Jinja 3, Kanungu 4 and Kumi 4.
Others were 2 from Buikwe, Bulambuli, Mukono, Rubanda, Wakiso as Busia, Gulu, Kalaki, Luwero, Mubende and Rakai each registered a single case.
The 96th case is a returnee from South Sudan. The ministry also registered one death from Jinja hiking the Country’s death toll to 86.
Uganda has todate registered a cumulative of 9,538 cases, 5,857 recoveries and 86 fatalities.
