KABALE- Kabale Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Darius Nandinda has come under fire for failing to hold weekly meetings on Corona Virus.
According to the Kabale district Task Force on Corona Virus, the team last had a meeting about a month ago yet they are supposed to hold weekly meetings to review the district status of COVID 19.
“Every District Task Force members are supposed to have weekly meetings to review on the district status of COVID 19 and discuss other ways/strategies aimed at fighting the spread of the virus” Noted a member of the DTF who did not want to be named.
He added “Why is Kabale district no longer having those meetings? How shall we know the stand of our communities in the district regarding COVID 19. Where is the problem to why these meetings no longer happen”.
The RDC Mr Darius Nandinda who is the Chairperson of the Task Force is reportedly in Kampala for his yet to be known deals.
“Who loses, It’s us the locals, because when Corona spreads in our district, the RDC may not even share on the pandemic since he is always not around. This has to stop. Mr RDC, Chairman, DHO, we need answers. What happened? What was that reason to why you used to have those meetings and now you can’t have them anymore”.
Kabale borders Gicumbi district of Rwanda near Katuna where very many cases of Corona Virus have been confirmed.
According to a source, Nandinda who has been Kabale RDC for over 7 years rushed to Kampala after being tipped that he was being transfered from the district where he has been accused of shielding the corrupt and conniving with rogue officials to siphon government funds.
It is alleged that he rushed to meet the god fathers to stop the eminent transfer.
The RDC has also been accused of harassing and suffocating the media and journalists who try to question his question and criticize his work methods.
A number of journalists in Kabale have lost their jobs or arrested by police on orders of Mr Nandinda.
Efforts to reach him for a comment were futile by press time.
