KABALE- Two headteachers have been arrested on allegations of opening schools before they were inspected, an act of disobedience of lawful orders that’s likely to spread infectious diseases.
The two are Tukamushaba Moses 41 years, the head teacher of Kigezi Cleverland High school on Kabale Katuna road and Ms Asiimwe Leah 39 years a proprietor of Excel Modern Primary School also on Kabale Katuna road Kitumba sub county in Kabale district.
According to the Kigezi Region Police Spokesman IP Elly Maate, these were arrested by the schools inspection team headed by the Resident District Commissioner Mr. Darius Nandinda and the District Education Officer, when they visited the schools this morning and found them therein not having done anything as per the requirements necessary for reopening.
IP Maate adds that they are being held for flouting the Covid-19 guidelines which are against the MOH preventive measures and presidential directives.
“Inspection is still going on and any school that will be found having opened without the inspection certificate to allow it do so, will be held responsible and charged accordingly” IP Maate added in a statement.
The case has been registered at Kabale Central Police station vide SD 29/15/10/2020.
