ISHAKA- Conflict has emerged at Tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba’s Ishaka based Crane Radio commonly known as Entuuha as employees threaten to lay down their tools if their fellow presenter Amanya Cosbert aka (MC Cosbert) who doubles as the station’s PD isn’t fired.
The said Amanya is being accused by fellow presenters alleging him of being abusive, rude at them and talking ill behind their back to their supervisors and poor reactions in line with duty.
In their July 7th 2020 letter copied to the station’s caretaker, station manager and the Managing director, the employees want the manager Joselyn Kategaya either fire Cosbert or else they all resign.
The letter was signed by all the popular 6 presenters at Crane Radio including the News Editor Felix Twinomugisha aka Ekirengabazana among others.
In response, the station manager had no kind words for them and directed them to go ahead with their decision since she does not work under their immense pressure.
“You would have first consulted me before writing the letter, you followed the wrong protocol” Kategaya said.
However workers also accuse the station manager Kategaya of continuously conniving with Cosbert in making fake and unbearable decisions which is in turn reducing the quality of their workforce.
“We don’t know how he even became the PD”, the manager has consistently favored him even if he is in wrong” One of the employees told this online publication on condition of anonymity.
Another employee commonly known as Hekro Edmandie, the sports presenter said Cosbert recently abused him calling him a “dog” and “feaces” as he tried to correct him from a mistake.
Some of the presenters who didn’t want to divulge more details said all the saga might be a result of political influence among other related factors.
All the employees currently off duty station told our spies that they have already submitted their grievances to the stations director Alhajji Hassan Bassajabalaba for further action.
This comes a few weeks after radio presenters at the Kampala based Sanyu FM were fired by their boss Rajiv Ruparelia after it emerged that the station management had resolved to cut their pay by 25%.
