RUKUNGIRI– One of the best Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) students at Maryhill High School in Mbarara District is eyeing to study Medicine at University.
Abamukama Robinna scored tripple A in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology , Credit 4 in General Paper and credit 3 in Computer Studies in the 2019 S.6 Examinations.
Speaking to this reporter at her parents home Lawrence Byaruhanga and Asiimwe Gillian in Kanyinya village, Southern Division in Rukungiri Municipality , Abamukama attributed her success to hard work and prayers.
“I was aware that science subjects especially Biology was difficult and needed extra input so I put in more effort to study hard, ask teachers questions and managed my time well on top of prayers seeking God’s intervention to pass the examinations” Abamukama who said was overwhelmed by the good results said .
She said that she was thankful to her teachers who guided her in all her subjects and parents who ensured that all her needs were catered for to avoid distraction which enabled her to concentrate on studies and passed well.
Her perternal auntie , Vastine Kenganzi, who is Rukungiri Municipality Senior Physical Planner said that Abamukama was always focused in whatever she laid her hands on and is a fast learner which enabled her to concertrate on science subjects .
Kenganzi said that even before the results were released Abamukama had already confided to her that she hoped to pursue a career in medical field and therefore her dream is coming to be realised sooner or later.
Her father , Byaruhanga who works with Kebisoni Health Center 1V said that it was God’s work that her daughter had excelled because as a family they had put in efforts and encouraged her to work hard.
