Hold on! Muslims urged to remain calm as Government handles Corovavirus pandemic

RUKUNGIRI/KANUNGU-The Chairman of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council for Rukungiri and Kanungu districts, Hajji Abdullah Nzigira has appealed to Muslims to remain calm as they wait for the government to make a final decision on the management and subsequent reopening of places of worship.

Hajji Nzigira remarks were contained in a massage he delivered on local radio station today morning to commemorate Eid Adhua, a Holy day for Muslims when they slaughter animals.

Nzigira hailed the government of Uganda for the prevailing conditions more especially during the Coronavirus pandemic.

He thanked Kanungu District Coronavirus Task Force for reaching out to the Muslim community during the fasting season when they were given food relief.

Nzigira said that the Muslim community is hopeful that government will open up places of worship so that the people can congregate and pray together.

He however said that today Eid Adhua prayers were held in individual homes due to restrictions put in place by the government to control the spread of Coronavirus.

The Muslim community in Kihihi however went on to slaughter animals as it’s the religious ritual and distributed meat among families. Hajji Nzigira thanked  Kinkizi West Member of Parliament Hon James Ruggi Kaberuka for reaching  out to the Muslims by offering them support to celebrate the Eid Adhua Day
