MBARARA- The Mbarara district Coronavirus taskforce has on Friday July 31st 2020 ordered for the closure of 5 city hotels on allegation of hosting coronavirus patients.
These hotels have been identified as Rwampara Suites, Leisure Park International Hotel, Golden Monkey, Africa Guest house and Acacia hotel.
Their operations have been suspended and all their workers isolated for 14 days for accommodating two guests who were medically examined and found infected with coronavirus.
The Mbarara Deputy Resident District Commissioner Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi ordered for the closure of these hotels after it was confirmed that they hosted coronavirus patients.
While ordering the closure Mwesigye noted that this puts to a high risk on Ugandans using these facilities who might contract the scourge from such places.
The development comes at a time when coronavirus cases are increasing now and again in the country and Uganda has todate registered 1,151 cases and 3 fatalities.
