Rukiga-The Police in Rukiga District are hunting for a 37-year-old man identified as Paul Ndyomujuni who is alleged to have killed a 23-year-old man.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman, Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Davidson Akandinda, a resident of Nyakahita village, Ibumba Parish in Rwamucucu Sub County in Rukiga District.
It’s reported that the two were seen together on 13th July, 2020 taking local brew but witnesses said they later developed a misunderstanding and started fighting during the scuffle, Ndyomujuni hit Akandinda on the head and seriously injured the victim in the brawl.
Efforts to rush Akandinda to a nearby health facility did not yield much results to save him as he died on the way .
The suspect on learning about the death of Akandinda fled from the village and his whereabouts are still unknown. Maate said that a case of murder by assault has been registered at Rukiga Police Station under reference number CRB 134/2020 to help law enforcement in investigations
