MITOOMA- The body of Confidence Arinda, a journalist who has been working with Eiaka Radio in Ibanda district has today been laid to rest at her parents’ home in Ndurumo II cell, Kashasha parish, Kiyanga Sub County in Mitooma district.
Arinda aka Kapotable also worked at Theodore FM in Ishaka Bushenyi District before joining Freedom Radio and K town all in Kabale district.
While leading the requiem service, Rev. Abias Muhanguzi of Rurama COU Kigarama archdeaconry in West Ankole diocese asked mourners to keep alert as they prepare for their heavenly places.
Reverend Muhanguzi hailed the deceased for her endless support towards the development of the Church.
He used the same podium to ask the government to open churches.
“Arinda has been too supportive of the church activities and we shall live to remember her endless efforts in the spiritual work” Rev Muhanguzi said.
Joveline Kalisa, the woman Member of Parliament for Ibanda district and her Mitooma district counterpart, Jova Kamateeka urged the family of the bereaved to stay firm and keep praying for God’s intervention in the entire life.
“All you need at this moment is leaning to the blood of the almighty to uphold you in this trying moment so that he keeps you strong in your life journey” the legislators said.
Ms Kaportable lost the battle to malaria at Ishaka Adventist hospital on Monday July 13th 2020.
At the age of 30, she is survived with a son and two daughters.
Journalists eulogized Arinda for fighting for the rights of journalists and educating masses.
