KABALE- A 28 year old woman in Rubanda District was yesterday September 4th 2020, killed by a mob after they allegedly established that she was responsible for the murder of her husband.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate identified the deceased woman as Naturinda Mereth a resident of Nyamiyaga village in Igomanda Parish in Hamurwa Sub County, who is alleged to have caused the death of her husband Niwagaba Pakarasio.
It’s reported that trouble started when 30 years old Niwagaba found his wife Naturinda allegedly having sex with another man in his house and the two love birds connived and killed Niwagaba and even managed to pull his body from the house and took it meters away from in the bush.
“When the angry residents learnt of it, they lynched the woman woman after she failed to account circumstances under which her husband died” Maate said.
Maate said that the Police was informed and visited the scene of crime where the two bodies were found and ordered for the burial of the two after carrying out a postmortem report.
He however said that 3 people who include Ignatius Agaba, Josephat and Bikorwomuhangi had their houses burnt down for having had a hand in the matter while Grace Kemigisha is in hiding.
The case was registered at Rubanda District Police Station under reference number CRB 311/2020 to help in Investigations.
Meanwhile the Police in Rukiga District have recovered the body of 60 year old William Zikakyinyima a resident of Rugarama village in Mparo Town Council whose body was yesterday morning found lying dead in a stream near his home.
Maate has confirmed this incident and said that it’s suspected the deceased who was known to be a drunkard failed to cross the stream and fell into the stream.
The deceased was first seen by 20 year old Ritah Twongyeirwe who was going to fetch water at the same stream, who later informed the authorities.
Maate said that the body was retrieved from the stream, a postmortem done and body handed over to the relatives for burial and a case of sudden death was registered at Rukiga Police Station under reference number SD 14/05/09/2020.
