NTUMGAMO- Bishop South Ankole Diocese Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe has asked Christians not to defy government and health experts’ orders against COVID-19 or become complacent against protection measures after churches, mosques open for services lest they become disaster to their neighbors and God turns his anger against them.
Speaking during the first open church service since March 2020 at St Matthew Cathedral Kyamate Ntungamo, he said many people may think because the religious places have opened thus COVID-19 has ended and start behaving in a lax way which may escalate infection and cause a second wave of lockdown.
The church has been preaching through a loud speaker placed on top of the church at least three times a day, Morning, afternoon and evening (like the Muslim way) since lock down.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe says the loud speaker that reaches 4 kilometers has been fundamental in preaching the gospel.
At Hope ministries full gospel church Pr Gerald Tugume asked the Christians to bless for a new beginning and take the opening of churches as a symbol that God has listened to their prayer and welcomed them back to churches.
