BUSHENYI- The Bushenyi district woman Member of Parliament Hon Minister Mary Karoro Okurut has called upon Ugandans to desist from political hatred if they want to develop their lives.
Hon Karoro who also doubles as the minister for general duties was speaking to our reporter at her home in Bushenyi town Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality on Sunday 6th September 2020.
Her words came a day after the declaration of the NRM party primary elections which were held on Friday 4th September 2020.
Hon Karoro who lost to Annet Katusiime Mugisha in a hot contest thanked her supporters for the love they showed her and urged them to concentrate on developmental issues rather than discussing politics every day. She said as NRM family, they should not fight each other.
She said as an NRM cadre, she cannot divulge the irregularities she observed in the Bushenyi elections but will take them to the NRM family because of the love she has for the party.
“I cannot tell you what was wrong but it was a total mess, the election was full of irregularities that disadvantaged my candidature,” the minister stated.
