RUBANDA- The Police in Rubanda are investigating the circumstances under which a giant campaign billboard belonging to Rubanda East Member of Parliament, Hon Henry Musasizi was damaged.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed to this reporter that they are investigating a case of vandalism after the billboard and several posters belonging to Hon Musasizi were defaced.
Maate said that the Police in Rubanda District have in their custody one Bishangwaho Julius who was allegedly found red handed defacing Hon Musasizi’s posters.
When contacted, Hon Musasizi said that defacing his billboard and posters will not stop voters from supporting him.
Hon Musasizi said that he already knows the people who are giving some youth money to deface his posters and he will expose them when time comes.
Hon Musasizi is facing Rubanda District LC 5 Chairperson Kenneth Biryabarema Joggo in a tight NRM flag bearer’s race.
However, Biryabarema has distanced himself from the allegations of vandalism of his opponent’s pictures and the decapitated billboard which he is said to have funded people to climb on and deface it in a bid to win sympathy votes.
