BUSHENYI- Crane Radio manager Joseline Kategaya has finally fired the news editor Felix Twinomigisha (Ekirengabazaana) over misunderstandings.
The issues at Crane Radio started way back in July when a section of workers decided to lay down tools if the manager could not fire the PD Cosbert Amanya for abuse of office, embezzlement of funds, impunity among others.
Workers later ceased fire and returned to work and all of them were forced to apologize through the manager Kategaya refused to fire Cosbert being his closest friend whom she had appointed as PD herself.
A section of 6 workers who also included the renowned journalist Felix Twinomigisha accused their manager of siding with Cosbert at work which caused unfairness and also accused her of lacking managerial skills.
However, after returning to work the rivalry continued as Cosbert and Kategaya never changed at all.
In a meeting that was held on Sunday 20th September 2020, the manager decided to fire Cosbert Amanya after being compelled by pressure to feel that he is the trouble maker at the station. He has been presenting the Ekikomi program.
However, she said Felix Ekirengabazaana should also be fired for yet to be identified reasons. He has been the news editor, RR news anchor and host of the popular agensi yoona program and Ekyanga kyawe on Sunday.
He is a qualified news reporter working with the informer Uganda and a correspondent for Uganda Radio Network. By press time, Felix was already linked to a move to one of the radio stations in Mbarara City.
Another one was Hekro Edmandie whom the manager also fired on grounds that his conflicts with Cosbert had become worse. Hekro has been hosting the sports program.
Most of the workers who talked to our reporter blamed the manager for siding with Cosbert and firing Hekro and Cosbert just for consolation.
Kategaya is also accused of not paying workers since she joined the Radio station and has always shared the money she would collect with Cosbert.
Others who survived the knife were Komuhimbo Mary who was also part of the group and Olivia Nasasira (Receptionist) who was given a last chance.
Our reporter talked to one of the listeners of Crane Radio in Sheema district called Mugisha Bosco, he said he has always hated Cosbert for being rude to people even to listeners.
Following history at Crane Radio, Cosbert has been blamed to be the cause for the firing of workers who included Fab, Raj, Beda among others.
