KAMPALA- The Ministry of Health has on Monday July 2020 confirmed 4 new coronavirus cases hiking the country’s cumulative infections to 1,069.
Of the new infections, two (2) are long truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan and Rwanda via Elegu and Mirama Hills points of entry respectively.
Two (2) others are alerts and contacts from Amuru and Tororo Districts.
Additionally, Nine (9) foreign truck drivers including 7 Kenyans and 2 Tanzanians tested positive for Coronavirus at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.
With 142 active cases on admission including 121 Ugandans, 19 foreigners and 2 refugees, Uganda has already registered 1,071 total Recoveries including both Ugandans and Foreigners.
Samples from points of entry tested yesterday were 1,853 in addition to 343 samples from alerts and contacts making 2,196 total samples tested on Sunday.
The country has already tested 247,646 samples since the outbreak of the coronavirus in Uganda.
