CLEARING THE AIR: Gayaza High School clarifies on girl caught on camera night dancing

KAMPALA- The Head teacher Gayaza High School Ms Kizito Robinah Katongole has said that the school has learnt with concern the social media post showing a video clip and pictures of a young girl who was portrayed in improper conduct.

According to a statement issued today October 19th 2020 by the Headteacher, the video clip alleged that the unfortunate girl was a student of Gayaza High School.

However, Ms Katongole in statement that she personally signed off indicated that the alleged incident of night dancing as been reported on social media did not happen at the school.

She however acknowledged that the pictures show a former student who completed Senior Six in 2014 and proceeded to University.

Katongole clarified that ever since the young girl joined University she suffered mental health challenges which even affected her studies.

“The school is in touch with her parents to ensure that she gets the necessary support” Katongole wrote in a one page statement which this Online Publication has seen.

Katongole said that they however deeply sympathize with the girl and pray that all efforts to restore her mental health bring quick results.

The Headteacher’s statement has put to rest that the young girl was a current student at Gayaza High School and was caught red handed in a night dancing act.

Other social media posts which started circulating yesterday evening had indicated that she was found indulging in the act in Ntinda.

Our reporter has since established that the unfortunate girl was indeed found when her mental faculties had broken down and she is now being taken care of.

Here below we reproduce Gayaza High School Head teacher’s statement verbatim.
