KAMPALA – The Busiro south Member of Parliament Peter Ssematimba who was among the 2019 UACE candidates has gnarred 13 points from the examination results released today.
Ssematimba who offered combination DAL/ ICT scored GEP: 6 – (1), CRE: D – (3), LIT: D – (3), ART: B – (5) and CST: 4 – (1) summing up to 13 points.
Ssematimba was forced to get back to school after his opponents accused him of lacking the minimum requirement to stand for the parliamentary seat as stipulated by the Ugandan constitution.
The legislator was later saved by a Court of Appeal ruling that overturned a lower court’s ruling.
In June 2016, Justice Lydia Mugambe kicked Mp Semantimba out of Parliament over lack of required academic credentials.
The legislator last year said whereas he possesses genuine and rightful academic credentials recognized in the United States of America, he was tired of being sued over papers and decided to go back and study UACE that Ugandans understand.
Justice Mugambe in her ruling faulted the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) for failure verify the authenticity and validity of Sthe legislator’s credentials of a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Technology, alleged to have been obtained from the Pacific Coast Technical Institute based in the US.
