BUSHENYI- As Uganda enters the fourth month in the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak, natives of Bushenyi District have been warned to desist from continued flouting of the presidential directives aimed at stemming the spread of coronavirus.
The strong and sensible warning was put by Mr. Jolly Tibemanya the Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner on Monday July 13th urging locals to abide by the set regulations as the government continues lifting some restrictions on Ugandans.
Mr. Tibemanya’s warning follows the continued laxity by residents who have been cited violating the set guidelines aimed at curbing the spread of the deadly virus that has paralyzed the world.
The RDC who doubles as the head of security in the district cautioned Bar owners, Video hall operators who he says have resumed business following the return to action of European football as people have been seen flocking the halls which is still illegal.
He adds that they will mount operations soon to arrest and apprehend whoever will be found culpable.
On the issue of boda-boda cyclists, Tibemanya warned that the habit of ferrying passengers is currently prohibited and that whoever is arrested will face court action.
Uganda has todate registered 1,029 coronavirus cases, 977 recoveries, no fatalities since March 21st 2020 when the first case was recorded.
